Bucs vs. Titans

On December 28th, Wheels of Success held another successful fundraiser at the Players Club, in the Doubletree Hotel Tampa Westshore. We would like to thank Mark Hinshaw, Food and Beverage Manager, and the Doubletree for providing the venue and half-time buffet. Approximately 50 supporters attended the event that raised $1,500 via an afternoon of football fun. This successful event enabled us to repair two vehicles for families who, otherwise, would have been unable to continue working.

Half of those present to support this event work for Spheris (formerly Total eMed/EDiX). Thanks to Heather Steinfeld, Employee Relations Manager, for coordinating this effort. We'd like to thank Jesica Price, graphic artist, for designing the flyers and tickets.

Several Board Members were also present and enjoyed the chance to meet some of our contributors. Especially appropriate for the day was the appearance of Board Member Henry Lawrence, 3-time Super Bowl Winner, who was on hand to meet and greet our guests.

We also appreciate the following contributions for our door prizes: gift certificates from Ho Ho Choy Restaurant, Park Jewelers, Joseph at Diva Salon, Cindy at Caribbean Tan & Nails, and Marsha Weisse; two Melaleuca baskets from Sandra Maggio; a box of cigars from Thompson Cigar Company; and a signed Devil Rays picture and Bucs football provided by Kathleen Barry-Wacaser.

Wheels extends a very special thanks to Terri and John Benincasa for donating the 50/50 prize drawing back to us after winning the cash!

The pain of watching our team lose its final game of the season was somewhat eased by our ability to help two families start the new year with working wheels.
